Kannad Marine reports great success at PSP 2011 Southampton Boat Show
Kannad Marine received a phenomenal response to its new SafeLink R10 Survivor Recovery System (SRS) which was showcased at this year’s PSP Southampton Boat Show.
Ranging from casual boaters to professional sailors, customers buying the new SafeLink R10, acknowledged it as the ‘must-have’ personal safety product.
This unique device was also demonstrated as part of the show’s live ‘Boat Clinic’ feature taking place in Solent Hall. Kannad Marine’s Product Manager, James Turner, explained to the attending crowds how Kannad Marine’s innovative use of AIS (Automatic Identification System) has resulted in the development of this product as an aid to personal safety for individuals spending time on or near the water, whether for work or leisure.
“We are delighted that the SafeLink R10 has been so well received,” says Marketing Co-ordinator for Kannad Marine, Claire Morby. “Customers know they can rely on the SafeLink R10 should they encounter a distress situation. They can use S10 to alert the vessel they have come from (and AIS-equipped vessels in the vicinity) to their exact position, facilitating fast and effective recovery. Ensuring personal safety is crucial for anyone spending time on or near the water.”
The SafeLink R10 SRS is one of a number of emergency location beacons in the Kannad Marine range, which also includes Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs), Search and Rescue Transponders (SARTs) and Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs).
The full range of Kannad Marine products were available for visitors to view throughout the show on the Ocean Safety stand. During the show Ocean safety announced their partnership with the Volvo Ocean Race; this involves providing a two day sea survival course and supplying essential safety kit, including the SafeLink R10. The show ran from 16-25th September 2011, with more than 110,000 visitors attending.
