METS (Marine Electronics Trade Show), the largest event of its kind in Europe, has just taken place in Amsterdam. Kannad Marine was represented on a joint stand with McMurdo (its sister brand). The stand was manned by a team of sales and product managers. METS is an opportunity to meet up with all of our European partner distributors and many of our distributors from all around the world, and discuss the marine electronics industry, the year ahead and how we can help our customers with the sales and marketing of our products.

At the show this year there has been lots of buzz about the Safelink R10, our new personal AIS beacon product. The feedback we have been given from around the world has been really positive; many people believe that it is the product their customers have been waiting for. What’s more the R10 was awarded  “Special Mention” at the prestigious DAME awards which runs in tandem with METS.

During METS we also held a dinner and awards ceremony for our partners to reflect on the past year. This year we presented three of our distributors with special awards: The Kannad Marine Distributor of the Year Award 2011 was presented to ENISA of Spain, the Kannad Marine New Distributor of the Year Award was won by RFD Australia, while the Most Innovative Distributor was awarded Ocean Safety, UK. Well done to all three winners and, indeed all of our distributors who have worked so hard throughout the year. The year is coming to a close on a real high with the R10’s launch and we are really looking forward to the next twelve months.
